Abstract
Diarrhoea is defined as when a pateint has about of four or more loose stool per 24 hours period and the stool cpecimen is loose enough to take the shape of container. It has been esrimated that in 1975 there were about 500 million episodes or diarrhoea in children below 5 years of age in Asia, africa, Latin America resukting in 5 to 18 million death. In the South Asian Region the incidence of diarrhoeal disease in defferent countries have been shown to vary from 1.5 to 12 per population of all ages. India aloe at least 105 million children below age of years die every due to non cholera diarrhoea.
