Institute for Health Management (IHM)

Institute for Health Management (IHM) (Institut Pengurusan Kesihatan, IPK) traces its roots back to a small division under the Institute of Public Health known as the Management Training Division. IHM was proposed under the 6th Malaysia Plan (1991-1995) as one of the six institutes under the National Institutes of Health (NIH). The institute was established to conduct high quality research and training targeting professionals and middle-level managers within the Ministry of Health, focusing on health service priorities based on the national health agenda as outlined in the 9th Malaysia Plan (9MP). The goals of the 9MP related directly to IHM core functions, which were to enhance the healthcare delivery system and optimise resources through research, training and consultation.
